Ever wondered how a flour mill works? Well come down to Unigrain Flourmill, set in the Victoria countryside and find out! As well as enjoying a guided tour of the mill equipment in action, why not stop awhile and have a wonderful lunch or afternoon tea, tasting our delicious home-baked bread and cakes?
In the Miller’s Kitchen you can relax and enjoy a speciality coffee with a cake or bread made from flour that comes from our home-grown wheat. Or if it’s a sunny day, sit out at one of picnic tables and be lulled by the turning of our water wheel.
And if you feel the need to walk off those extra calories, we have a range of interesting and scenic walks through the Victoria countryside, around our Mill – just ask for a leaflet when you visit or download one here.
Although the mill building is fairly new, there has been a mill on this site since the thirteenth century. During the building process, we came across a variety of artefacts from earlier buildings (only the footprint of an earlier building had survived when we took possession) and you can see several of those, including some Victorian floor tiles, in their new home.
Once you’ve tasted our wonderful flour, we’re sure you’ll want to buy some or maybe a loaf or cake to take home. You’re in excellent company – we sell our special flour to several local businesses, including the Chester Grosvenor.
So why not come down with the family – you could even turn it into a full day out, by taking in other local attractions, such as the Crocky Trail and Victoria Ice Cream Farm.
The Mill is open every day (10am to 5pm), except Mondays (but open on bank holidays).
